Lisa Milburn

Lisa Milburn

Chief Marketing and Communications Officer,Wealth Management
Executive Sponsor,BMO for Women

I’m proud of the BMO for Women program and our commitment to being a leader in promoting and advancing Diversity and Inclusion.

Why did you decide BMO was right for you and why do you love working here?

It has always been important to me to work for a great and reputable company that has amazing people who believe in and align behind common values and a clear, yet simple brand promise to customers. I love what we stand for as a company and the support employees are given to develop and grow their careers in the bank.

In your experience, what has made you successful at BMO and what lessons have you learned along the way?

I’m a champion of our brand and understanding our bank strategy. I work hard to deliver on ambitious goals and I’m always ready to help others achieve theirs. This has allowed me to build great sponsorship and support across the bank. If you are ambitious and want to drive your career, there are lots of leaders in the bank ready to help.

So many lessons… be self-aware of your strengths, areas of development and work on them. Drive your career and know where you want to go, but make sure you’re having open conversations on the skills you need to develop to get there. Build your network and sponsorship.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Helping people succeed, removing barriers and solving problems. Whether I’m helping a client or a colleague. I’m inspired every day to help others be better and make positive change. That’s incredibly rewarding.

What is your proudest moment working at BMO?

There are so many…. I’m proud of the teams I’ve built and the great people I’ve had the opportunity to work with. I value the history of our company and the number of innovative firsts that we continue to launch in the market. I’m proud of the way we’ve stood by our customers in good times and challenging times. Lastly, I appreciate the support behind the BMO for Women program and our commitment to being a leader in promoting and advancing Diversity & Inclusion.
