I work well under pressure thanks to the military while also finding innovative ways to work smarter not harder.



What was your job in the military?

Intelligence Analyst. Gathering enemy intelligence from satellite and ground sources, reporting back to the Generals.

Why did you decide BMO was right for you and why do you love working here?

Before joining BMO as an employee, I was a customer. In my local branch, I was able to connect with the teller who like myself, had tattoos and piercings and let me bring my dog in. I knew BMO was a place that would accept me for me. I love working here because of the interesting work that I do every day and the flexibility they provide me.

How do you take the skills you used in the military and use those today?

I always think like a leader and am ready to step up and help; lead by example as a good leader should. In addition, I bring the Army values – loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage with me to work every day as I approach each situation I encounter.

What has helped you in your career development and what lessons have you learned along the way as you explored new opportunities at BMO?

I don’t let up. Allowing others to discourage me won’t get me anywhere. I work well under pressure thanks to the military while also finding innovative ways to work smarter not harder. In my time here, I’ve learned to speak up with my opinions and share them. Even if it might not be the conscious, at the end of the day, I know my voice is being heard.

What are you currently working on that is helping you build on different skills?

I’m involved with continuous education at BMO through webinars, online education classes and  hearing directly from leaders that the Bank brings into the office for trainings. Additionally, I keep on top of the changing criminal world and trends by reading various industry publications.

What excites you most about the year ahead?

There’s a restructuring of my division happening and an increase in workplace flexibility.
